Notes: In summary, I will keep minimal notes of our sessions to inform our work together. Notes will be assigned a reference number, held securely and kept separate from your contact details ensuring your notes cannot be linked to you. Contact details and email exchanges will be erased after the end of our work together. Please see Privacy Notice for full information.

It is a requirement of the profession and its standards, that all counsellors/psychotherapists have regular clinical supervision. Our work together may be discussed in supervision but your identity and anonymity will be protected.

Social Media: I do not add clients to personal social media accounts in order to protect the privacy of both you, and me. If you are interested in any further resources to support our work together, we can discuss this and I can provide links to reading material for you.

Code of Practice

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018). You can read the Ethical Framework at www.bacp.co.uk and will also find some useful resources and guidance about what to expect from counselling and psychotherapy. As I am undertaking a doctorate in existential psychotherapy and counselling, I also work within the Code of Ethics for UKCP www.psychotherapy.org.uk.

Confidentiality and Privacy

It is important that you can speak freely and have trust in the therapeutic relationship. The content of our sessions are confidential within certain limits. If it seems you are likely to cause significant harm to yourself, or to others, confidentiality may need to be overridden as a legal requirement. I hope that we could discuss and agree together what, if any, action needs to be taken.

Fees and Payment

Payments are made before each session by BACS transfer.

Individual sessions are 50 minutes and £70.00 per session.

Couples sessions are 90 minutes and £110.00 per session.

Appointments and Cancellations

Counselling/Psychotherapy is only likely to be successful if a commitment to attend regularly is made.

We can work to short, mid or long term contracts and can review this as we proceed and with your circumstances held in mind. Sometimes counselling/psychotherapy can bring up strong feelings – where possible it would be useful for us to talk through this without ending sessions abruptly.

We undertake to attend appointments unless unforeseen circumstances mean cancellation is absolutely necessary. Sessions cancelled with more than 48 hours notice will incur no charge. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, and where no rearrangement is possible, will incur the full fee.

If you cancel more than three consecutive appointments, we will review if counselling/psychotherapy is of benefit to you, or if your situation is making it difficult to proceed. We may then choose to end our or renew our contract.

If you do not attend an appointment and do not notify me within seven days, I will take this as intention to end the counselling/psychotherapy contract.
